about me
Born in Sydney in 1975 to a Swiss mother and Australian father, I am a largely self-taught Artist. I spent most of my life in Australia, and moved to Switzerland in 2010. I consider both places to be home and find them to be of great creative inspiration. I mostly work in colour pencil or watercolour and subjects can be anything from still-life arrangements to more abstract, colourful, geometric designs. I adore the way certain colours 'pop' when placed beside others.
I am at my happiest, when I am drawing or painting. Being an artist is not just a part of me, but rather: it is the whole of me, it is who I am. I see beauty in so many things, almost too much to take in. When walking with friends, I'll be the one lagging behind with my camera out, fascinated by dewdrops on a leaf, speckled sunshine on a forest floor, or pretty lamp-lit windows down cobble-stoned laneways. I feel I must capture those moments, because they inspire me to create, either on-the-spot, or as soon as I get back to my workspace. I often ask myself: how can I recreate this scene? How would I portray the light and shadows? And which medium could I use? A daydreamer at heart.
My art practice helps me re-live, retain & share the beauty I encounter in life.
